Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1, published by Rockstar Games in December 2023, is still a primary source. It is not a systems FAQ and not a map atlas. This article records what that footage establishes, then stops. The durable index for official presentations is the trailers hub — this page supports that hub; it does not replace it.

We treat three layers as different claims: confirmed by Trailer 1 (on screen in that video), previously officially confirmed in later Rockstar material such as Trailer 2, and not confirmed. Leaks, pause-frame name lists, and fan maps are none of those.

How to read this recap

A trailer can show a world without naming it, and it can show two people without printing a full character sheet. When a later official trailer or Rockstar page adds a name, that fact lives on the matching entity or hub — not as something Trailer 1 “secretly confirmed.”

Confirmed by Trailer 1

These points are grounded in what the first official trailer puts on screen, not in community lore.

Two leads, presented together

The trailer centers a female lead and a male partner in shared sequences — crime, flight, and quieter moments. That pairing is the campaign presentation. This site’s records for Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval treat Trailer 1 as when those leads were first shown. Full names as printed in later official copy are a separate claim (see below).

The female lead is shown in a detention-style setting as well as in the city. That is footage, not a complete prison biography. Extra plot that only exists in leaks stays off the characters hub.

A Vice City–scale urban core

The trailer is built around a dense coastal city: beaches, towers, nightlife, and street-level clutter. Vice City is the name this site uses for that urban core because official material frames it that way. Trailer 1 is city-and-surroundings footage, not a labeled gazetteer. District names that never appear in official copy are not added here.

Shots also leave downtown: wetlands, highways, and less urban ground. That supports a connected open world in the sense of gameplay presentation — one continuous space, not isolated levels. It does not publish a map size. Scale belongs on the map hub, and it remains unknown.

Vehicles as part of the same world

Cars, motorcycles, and boats appear in traffic and set pieces. Emergency vehicles and aircraft show up in pursuit sequences. That is enough to say vehicles remain a core toy. It is not a manufacturer roster. Named models wait for official copy; until then the vehicles hub stays a class catalog, not a leaked garage sheet.

A living-city pitch

Crowds, weather, night and day, and street-level activity are edited as the same place the leads move through. That is trailer presentation of density. Simulation rules, wanted-level math, and an economy are not spelled out. Those questions stay on gameplay as unknown unless later official material states them.

Crime, force, and wildlife — as depicted, not as a wiki

Armed robberies, police response, and firearms appear in the cut. Animals appear in natural ground around the city. That matches what this site already tracks as depicted, not as a mission list or a species list. We do not name guns or animals Trailer 1 does not name.

What the end card stated at the time

Trailer 1’s closing presentation pointed the public at a 2025 window. That is what that trailer said. It is not the current official date. Windows after that — including the date now on the release date hub — come from later Rockstar and Take-Two communications. Do not treat the Trailer 1 end card as today’s calendar.

  • A female lead and male partner are the face of the campaign footage.
  • The setting reads as a large connected world with a Vice City–like urban core and land around it.
  • Vehicles, crowds, weather, crime, and wildlife are shown in that same space.
  • The original on-trailer window was 2025; that window has been superseded in official dating.

Previously officially confirmed (not by Trailer 1 alone)

Later official trailers and Rockstar presentation added names and framing that Trailer 1 does not have to carry by itself. We keep them off the “Trailer 1 confirmed” list so this article cannot cannibalize Trailer 2 or the hubs.

  • The printed names Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval are treated on this site as Trailer 2 presentation. Trailer 1 shows the leads; Trailer 2 is where those full names are on the record here.
  • Leonida as the named state around Vice City is official geography on the map hub. Trailer 1 shows variety around the city. It does not have to be the source of the state name.
  • PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as platforms are official in Rockstar’s platform messaging, tracked separately from this recap.
  • The current release date is November 19, 2026, on those consoles — later official communication, not the Trailer 1 end card.

Not confirmed

Trailer 1 does not establish the following. Filling them from leaks or inference would make this page longer and less true.

  • A complete supporting cast, gang chart, or family tree.
  • Ages, jobs, or a finished backstory for either lead.
  • An official map size, district list, or interactive atlas.
  • Named vehicle models or a manufacturer sheet.
  • Wanted-level rules, mission structure, or a GTA Online feature list.
  • Price, editions, PC date, or system requirements.
  • Anything the Extended Look has not yet shown — that presentation is announced, not a Trailer 1 substitute.

Where Trailer 1 sits in the footage cluster

Chronology on this site is meant to stay simple: Trailer 1, then Trailer 2, then the Extended Look as a living page for the next official presentation. Future official footage should link from the trailers hub, not spawn a second Trailer 1 URL.

If you want systems rather than a trailer recap, use gameplay. If you want stable character URLs, use Lucia and Jason. Geography stays on the map.

Where to go next

Start at GTA 6 trailers. Compare what Trailer 2 adds without treating either recap as the whole wiki. When official Extended Look footage exists, that hub is the place we update first — not this article.
